The multimedia industry in Provence
is defined by three major innovation trends:
Images and 3D animation
The 3D environment essentially groups participants
orientated towards technological research, but also
the suppliers of interface applications linked to industry
or leisure (vocal interfaces, sensorial, avatars) that
can be developed between the user and the multimedia
content.
Production and transfer of knowledge
The management of knowledge and information concerns
questions linked to the indexation and research of
information; and to the use of multimedia resources
for pedagogic reasons, collaboration, knowledge management
and benchmarking.
Multimedia content and mobility
This concerns research into technical constraints
and economic models. The aim is to develop content
on communicating objects using high rate transmission
mobile networks.
This innovation trend highlights the richness and innovation
of Provence’s economy.

In one
direction, a recognised industry exists that is
based around a micro-electronics zone, and the
know-how concerning communicating mobile objects
(ST Microelectronics, Atmel… ). |

|
 |
In another
direction, there are a number of producers of cutting-edge
interactive content, such as "Vox in the Box" (ANVAR
approved), or "Mobivillage" (decentralised
in 2 phases from Paris in 2000 and 2002). The most
recent arrival is "Cityvox" which transfers
its skills on the Web to mobile supports, in conjunction
with its European partners. |
