Educational multimedia, a major axis
Since it was set up in 1992, the Aix-Marseille C.R.D.P.
has played a determining role in developing the TICE.
In 1994, it established the ORME (Observatory for Educational
Multimedia Resources). The observatory’s national
aim is to promote (mainly during its annual meetings)
the collaboration between those working in education,
manufacturing and public organisations. This collaboration
is an essential condition for the coherent development
of the use of multimedia. In 1995, the CRDP offered
the first on-line pedagogic services. This nationally
important project was C.R.D.P. by the Ministry of
Industry.
Today, in addition to its role as a multimedia editor,
the C.R.D.P. contributes to the development of an Euro-Mediterranean
centre of educational and cultural multimedia industries,
through a project gathering together public sector
players in multimedia content (researchers, designers,
editors, distributors…).
An organisation
network
The C.R.D.P. conducts its different activities in collaboration with government
institutions or public organisations, research laboratories and manufacturers
at a regional, national and international level.
At a national level, it is
part of the SCEREN network, made up of: the C.N.D.P. (National Centre for Pedagogic
Documentation); 31 C.R.D.P. (regional centres) and
83 C.D.D.P. (departmental centres).
For the Aix-Marseille educational district, it is represented by its 4 C.D.D.P.
(Digne, Gap, Marseille, Avignon), which support the primary and secondary schools
in their department in activities corresponding to the SCEREN’s objectives.
The International Relations and Co-operation Authority
of the Education Ministry has delegated the management
of the MEDITER network to the C.R.D.P. of Marseille.
This project resulted from the Naples Conference in 1998.
It involves the organisation of exchanges between educational
and cultural sectors of the Mediterranean basin countries.
MEDITER aims to enhance activities already underway,
and be a synergy catalyst for people, networks and
projects. Particular attention is given to co-operation
between the public and private sector.
