| An
action plan to enhance local skills
in educational and cultural multimedia
in the context of an approach to a regional content
centre
Dedicated to co-operation, MaTICE aims to encourage
the structure of a centre involving research, creation, editing
and circulation of educational and cultural multimedia in
Marseille and its region.
The regional strategy concentrates
on the area where multimedia production content converges
with information
and communication technology, micro-electronics, telecommunication
and computers.
A strategic operational study has been undertaken with
the specific intention to clarify the action plan, to
define the objectives and identify the best operational
structures concerning the institutional and manufacturing
participants involved.
This approach has already enabled
the “dedicated
co-operation centre” to group together numerous
public sector participants, and some private sector participants.
Some services of the MaTICE action plan already exist
and are working together more closely: benchmarking,
studying how multimedia is used, offers of training,
research, help with setting up and developing companies,
follow-up, international relations, and of course knowledge
sharing.
These services will develop, diversify, become
structured, and will progressively concern an increasing
number of
participants, particularly those from the private sector
who now organise themselves into associations. Some of
these associations have the same objectives as MaTICE.
The industrial and economic dimensions of the MaTICE
project are as equally important as the educational and
cultural dimensions.
In future, three aspects of the action
plan will be developed. The first aims to structure the
educational
and cultural content sectors; the second is to finalise
a regional centre offering co-operative services; and
the third is to encourage relations between the manufacturing
sector and advanced training and research.
The MaTICE action plan aims to help make Marseille and
its region a reference point for the content and use
of educational and cultural multimedia, at the national
and international levels.
