Welcome to Arles!
How pleasant it is to take a summer stroll
through the narrow streets of Arles. Not only is the
city full of architectural delights, but it is also known
for holding exhibitions by well-known photographers,
and summer festivals that stage unique encounters between
art, music, tourists and local residents - known as les
Arlésiens…
Arles is also home to the head offices of Actes Sud and
Harmonia Mundi - and who knows, maybe one day your company
too…
Arles Numérique (Digital Arles)
Arles is at the centre of Arles Numérique,
a project to attract multimedia companies to the region.
The project is based on the diverse forms of cultural
expression upon which the identity and reputation of
Arles is founded. Led by the municipality, the project
is part of the development strategy of the Pays d’Arles,
and is supported by the département and the region.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry is also closely
involved..
Arles Numérique has two fundamental and complementary
development trends. The first is the economy (making
conditions favourable to attract and create companies);
and the second is training (forming a group of schools
where the necessary development skills can be learnt).
Arles Numérique concerns the entire city, and
the wider Pays d’Arles region. Two sites will specifically
host the new activities:
The Médiapôle Saint-Césaire will
offer a building that combines tradition and modernity,
covering 2000 square metres. It includes a technical
resource centre, a business incubator and temporary office
space in a prestigious site.
The Ateliers Numériques, on the ex-SNCF workshop
sites, groups together teaching establishments (IUT and
Sup Infocom), and progressive, modular business premises.
It covers 10,000 square metres in a vast urban neighbourhood.
At the Médiapôle, a multimedia resource
centre will offer companies access to various equipment.
This equipment is currently being studied, so that it
will meet the needs of current and future businesses.
The Médiapôle and the Ateliers are linked
to the very high-speed data network installed by the
PACA region. Training establishments, research and resource
centres, and the business incubator have direct access
to the network.
